These Terms of Service govern your use of the Kodesh mobile application and the kodeshway.com website (collectively, "the Service"), operated by an individual developer based in the United States. By using Kodesh, you agree to these terms.
Kodesh is a Bible reading and study application for iOS. It provides access to Bible translations, animated journey plans, audio narration, push notifications, and optionally AI-powered verse insights. The free tier of Kodesh is and will remain free. Paid subscription tiers (Kodesh+ and Kodesh+ Scribe) unlock AI insight features as described on the pricing page.
Kodesh uses Sign in with Apple for authentication. You must have an Apple ID to use Kodesh. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials.
Kodesh+ and Kodesh+ Scribe are monthly auto-renewing subscriptions managed entirely through Apple's App Store. Billing, renewals, refunds, and cancellations are handled by Apple and subject to Apple's terms and conditions. To cancel a subscription, manage it through your iPhone's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
AI insight limits reset when your subscription renews — tied to your billing cycle, not the calendar month. Unused insights do not roll over. Upgrading from Pilgrim to Scribe mid-cycle does not retroactively restore insights used in the current period but does immediately increase your monthly limit going forward.
We reserve the right to adjust subscription pricing with reasonable notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period and will be communicated in advance.
You agree to use Kodesh only for its intended purpose — personal Bible study and reflection. You agree not to: attempt to circumvent subscription limits or access controls; reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the app; use automated tools to access the service; or use the service in any way that violates applicable law.
Scripture quotations are from Bible translations in the public domain or used under license. Specific translation credits are available within the app. The animated scenes, journey plan content, and original written content within Kodesh are the intellectual property of the developer and may not be reproduced without permission.
AI insights are generated by Anthropic's Claude model and are provided for informational and devotional purposes only. They are not theological authority and should not be treated as such. AI responses may occasionally contain errors or limitations. We encourage you to read scripture directly and consult your own pastoral community for spiritual guidance.
Kodesh is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated content.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use Kodesh. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim.
You may stop using Kodesh at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the service for violations of these terms, with or without notice. Termination does not entitle you to a refund — refund requests must be directed to Apple.
We may update these terms from time to time. We will update the date at the top of this page when we do. Material changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with applicable United States law.
Kodesh is operated from the United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States. For European users, we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation. For California users, we comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act. See our Privacy Policy for details on your rights.
You may delete your account at any time from within the app under Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion removes all data we hold about you from our servers. Content stored in your personal iCloud account is not affected by account deletion and can be managed through your iCloud settings.
